  • We would love for you to come and visit our little gallery on Daufuskie Island in South Carolina. However, we understand that it may be a bit of a geographical and monetary inconvenience, depending on where you live. If you're unable to visit in person, you can check out recent work on this website or place an online order. We are always here to help answer any questions you may have and assist you in finding the perfect piece for your space. Please just send us an email and we'll answer.

  • The gallery is on beautiful Daufuskie Island. Please visit here for our current exhibition and information on how to get here.

  • We would love to see you at our gallery! While we try to be open every Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 12pm to 4pm, please understand that our schedule can sometimes be affected by travels, weather, and swashbuckling privateering. We recommend checking our website or sending us an email or a message in a bottle to confirm our hours before making the trip. Alternatively, you can also shop online for our latest selection of artwork. We sure hope to see you soon!

  • After years of traveling the world I came to appreciate digging deeper into one subject at a time. The Lowcountry, with its beauty and rich history, is the perfect subject. Endless stories can be explored and the camera is the tool to do so. From landscapes to seascapes to humanity, everything is here. Everything must be told. I am still traveling for assignments but the Lowcountry is where my heart is.

  • Yes. If the work was a limited edition we might have sold out but it never hurts to ask. Please send us a note and we will answer. gallery (at) berg.art

  • Yes, locally and abroad. Please talk to my manager, Corwin. You’ll love him!

  • Workshops on Daufuskie are planned and will be announced soon. Meanwhile, if you love to travel, check out our Trips page.

  • Yes. Olga and Stravinsky.

  • Limited Edition means that there will only ever be a pre-determined number of prints produced of each photograph. Once the edition sells out, there will never be another reprint of that photograph. All of our limited editions are only printed ten times, excluding test prints and gallery editions.

  • Open Editions can be replicated by us as often as we see fit. You might find the print you bought on aluminum, canvas, or wood. Framed or not. Test prints. Small or big. On coffee mugs and in snowballs. Airport advertising. The works!

  • Once in a while we decide to print a dedicated gallery edition to showcase the image locally in our gallery or somewhere else. Those prints will not be sold. They will be discarded after they fulfilled their purpose, and do not count against the limit of ten prints. Similar deal with the test prints. We need to print a lot of copies in different sizes before we can move on to the original. They might be displayed in the gallery but will never be sold. And don’t count against the limit of ten.

  • Yes, but only the limited editions. I sign the original and apply a hologram with a unique number. Both will be hidden underneath the matte. You will get a certificate of authenticity with the matching hologram and another signature to keep with your image.

  • Any, really. Our default is 64” ish x 40” ish. You can order smaller or bigger but please keep in mind that bigger items need a special material order and handling. It may take a moment to produce the frames. Please contact us via email to figure out what suits your home the best.

  • This can only be decided on a case by case basis, if you have a particular motif in mind please contact us via email.

  • We strongly recommend that all photographs be mounted or taped by experienced professionals. When handling your photograph, please use the provided white cotton gloves to avoid smudging or fingerprints. For optimal results, we suggest cold mounting your photograph on a smooth, high-quality, and dimensionally stable substrate using a solvent acrylic adhesive with built-in UV inhibitors. Please note that mounting on a softer surface like foam core may result in orange peel or subtle dimpling on the surface of the photograph.

Alternatively, your framer may decide to tape the photograph onto the matte on top of the print. This floating method will preserve your print more sufficiently but may cause waving in humid conditions.

Please be aware that we can only sell and ship open editions for you to frame. All limited editions must be framed by us. We offer a range of handcrafted wood frames and other mounting options that are available for purchase online or in-gallery. Please contact us via email beforehand to ensure that we produce your print to your specifications.

  • We highly recommend using picture hangers and/or wall anchors when hanging your frame, as they provide the necessary support and security for your artwork. Please ensure that the hangers or anchors are appropriate for the weight and size of your frame, and that they are installed securely into the wall.

If you are uncertain about the best way to hang your frame, we recommend consulting with a professional picture hanger or a trusted hardware store for guidance.

Please note that Studio D’awfoskee is not responsible for any damage caused by improper hanging or installation of your frame. Thank you for choosing our artwork to adorn your space. We hope you enjoy it for years to come.

  • To clean the surface of your photograph, dust the museum glass with a soft, damp cloth or chamois. Do not use window cleaning sprays, kitchen scouring compounds, or solvents such as acetone, gasoline, or lacquer thinner to clean the glass or image, as this may cause permanent damage. Avoid using dry or gritty cloths as they may cause surface scratches and create a static electric charge.

For our wood frames, periodic dusting with a soft, dry cloth is sufficient. Avoid using liquid or chemical cleaning products, as they will damage the protective wax finish over time.

Our metal frames can be cleaned with a high-quality microfiber cloth, applying only light pressure, and drying by blotting the cloth.

Use compressed or canned air to remove surface dust from the frames and hanger making sure not to expel any moisture during the cleaning process.

  • Write as an email or order online. If you prefer email we are looking forward to talking to you and will be in touch quickly to discuss any details.
